The WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards ™ recognizes the top local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the organization, the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ are awarded solely based on the reviews from over 1.2 million newlyweds. Awards are determined by a combination of four factors: Overall rating (quality), total number of reviews (quantity), review performance from 2011 (recency), and consistency of reviews from year to year (consistency). This year’s recipients represent the top 5% of WeddingWire’s vendor community, across all service categories and all regions throughout the US and Canada.

Two wedding shows and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) conference has kept everything pretty busy here in the last couple of weeks. January and February has mostly been about talking to clients and event planners and booking events for the rest of the year, and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things and actually go photograph some parties. We have a couple of events in March to ease us into the busy season and then it’s off to the races! We do have some summer and fall dates still available if you are thinking about booking us for an event…

Well, Laughing Penguins has a busy month coming up in January – 2 wedding shows, and the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) conference in San Antonio, TX.   Looking forward to this coming year, and working with all of the wonderful photographers here in St. Louis!   I’m starting the year off on the right foot by bringing the blog up to date…

Happy New Year everyone!

Before and after pictures are always fun!  This is the third event I’ve been able to help out the Washington University student group that raises funds for and donates hair to the Locks of Love charity.   Thanks also to the stylists from Paul Mitchell The School for donating their time.

Anyone who has visited this blog regularly knows that there are times when it hasn’t been updated for weeks (or, ahem, months) at a time.   Where does the time go?   I’m about to post a couple of recent events (and yes, I’m going to backdate the entries so you know when they should have been posted!).  From now on, I’m going to try to be more punctual in posting events – in the week that they occur.   Promise.
