We had a great time at the SLAMPI Trivia Night. Some of the tables had really creative themes, and we loved every minute of it!

Two wedding shows and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) conference has kept everything pretty busy here in the last couple of weeks. January and February has mostly been about talking to clients and event planners and booking events for the rest of the year, and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things and actually go photograph some parties. We have a couple of events in March to ease us into the busy season and then it’s off to the races! We do have some summer and fall dates still available if you are thinking about booking us for an event…

Well, Laughing Penguins has a busy month coming up in January – 2 wedding shows, and the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) conference in San Antonio, TX.   Looking forward to this coming year, and working with all of the wonderful photographers here in St. Louis!   I’m starting the year off on the right foot by bringing the blog up to date…

Happy New Year everyone!

My favorite holiday party of the season!  Secure Data always throws a big bash – in addition to the photo booth studio, there was a (very entertaining) magician, and casino games.   Also the CEO gave each employee an iPad at the end of the night.   That’s right folks.  Everyone got an iPad.   Anyone want to join a new company??   Also, it was fun to work again with the wonderfully talented Sarah Corbett from Soulscapes Photography.  All in all it was a very merry evening.

Congratulations to Chris and Erin, who were engaged this year!   They threw a monumental bash to celebrate their engagement at Araka Restaurant in Clayton.  The party was elegant and had a “Rat Pack” touch.  A terrific Big Band from Chicago entertained guests the entire night;  and the guests entertained US all night long (and for that, we thank them!)

Also many thanks to Kristin Beracha for working with me to project high and large on the wall of Araka’s restaurant.  It’s probably not every day that a client asks for something that outlandish!   Anyone who is looking for a private party space, Araka is a pretty swank choice, with great food and amazing service.
